More letters yet - here's the rest of our alphabet!

Big N, little n, what begins with those?
Nasty, nasty noises coming from my noxious nose.

\

Big O, little o,
Out and about.
Obviously obnoxious when the orange sun is out.

Big P, little p, P…p…P…
Practicing our counting pounding on piano keys.

Big Q, little q,
Too legit to quit.
Quick and quirky dancing; a priest won’t question it.

Big R, little r, R…r…R…
Riding round and round in a Reese’s racing car.

Big S, little s,
Snoring in your sleep
Struggling to snooze makes it hard to count some sheep.

T..t..T...
Tires, trucks and trains
Taking Grandpa’s tractor on a ride across the plains.

Big U, little u,
Something unexpected there:
Unsettling all the neighbors with our urban underwear.

Big V, little v,
Vehemently vie.
Vicious fighting over toys can make a brother cry.

Www
Waddling…those are whose?
We can waddle waddle, while wearing daddy’s shoes.

X is extra weird; it’s not exactly orthodox,
Nor is Freedom Akinmoladun or fitting in a box.

Big Y, little y, Y…y…Y…
That’s the sound you make when your youngest goes awry.

Big Z, little z, Z…z…Z…
Zero reasons not to read a book zealously!

Letters are good, letters are fun. Here's our alphabet (part one)!

When writing on the alphabet this book was of good use.
It's nice to get inspiration from the great Dr. Seuss!

Big A, Little a, what begins with A?
Antagonizing antics and annoy begin that way.

Big B, little b, B...Bb
Blue Eyes and Blonde hair we get from Mom-mee!

Big C, little c, what begins with C?
Crackers, chips, Cheetos
And crunchy celery.

Big D, Little d, dunk, dunk, dunk.
Dunk a little basketball with a little chunk.

Eating, eating, eating is the best use of E.
Eggs and every kind of sweet that grandma brings for me.

Big F, little f,
Flying’s quite alright
Feasting on some snack food gets us through the flight.

Gentle great-grandparents all begin with G.
Time with them is a great gift, as you can plainly see.

Big H, little h,
Hats and helmets, head.
Mom is halfway horrified when Cheeto dust gets spread.

I, I, I is easy if you’re under three
All you really think about is “me, me, me.”

J is for John
A jolly jumping joker.
The center of attention’s grand,
But sharing’s mediocre.

K, k, K
Kitten, kaleidoscopic
Not much starts with K,
That’s why this one’s off topic.

Big L, little l, lifting levers, labor,
Fill a tire to see a lovely little neighbor.

Merry Michael starts with M, he’s mighty nice you know;
Here’s Michael mauling Madison many months ago.

Thanks for reading this half of the toddler alphabet
Back to being daddy now, this is far as I can get.
Next blog post we’ll finish all those other letters yet!

Weekend Fun with Thing Two and Thing One!

With the sun coming out and the sky turning blue,
A fun weekend awaited Thing One and Thing Two.
Time with grandparents, we're lucky - all four!
We can't wait to be spoiled, plus learn some more!

I’ll describe their weekend by typing this letter
Sure, a letter with blether, but what could be better
Than sharing the warm sunny weather together!

Sunlight peeks through the window; Things start early.
A chance to go out? They’ll take it, surely!
It’s surely early and the Things are squirrelly;
But we all eat first so we won’t get so surly.

So eager and able, no need for a table,
Let’s eat on the deck, we’re certainly able.

Then it’s down to the garage, where wheels abound
We’ll circle the block, around and around.
With John in his truck and Mike on his trike,
New sights and fresh air, so what’s not to like?

We take our wagon for a push, not a pull
For a life that is easy is a life that is dull.
There’s more fun to be had, this is just the beginning
Soon to Grandpa's our wheels will be spinning!
Grandma’s treats aren’t thinning, wonder why we are grinning?

With a yard that’s so much bigger than home,
Wide open spaces are perfect to roam.

Honking the horn and toting the pigskin
Taking pictures while eating to brother’s chagrin.

Home on Sunday, what to do for another fun day?
Having more grandparent time is one way.
They brought cake and candy, so what is the rub?
We need to help grandpa fix the tub.

Slowing down is undesired,
But sleeping some is still required.
Though the sugar’s kept us wired
It’s impossible to not get tired.

Things One and Two are fast asleep
And even for dad
Drowsiness starts to creep.

So thanks for reading this blog again,

Check back soon, I have to do ten!

Let me introduce this fun pair to you: Here are two Things, Thing One and Thing Two!

Hello and welcome, so glad to have you
To my blog with some words about Things One and Two.
Two brothers, who love to play, fight and eat
Exciting, I know, so stay in your seat.

I suppose that you’re thinking
“Not another mom blog!”
If I’m right then move on, go slog through a jog.
But if you insist that I should make this stop
I must do this for class; besides, I’m their pop.

Reading is good. Reading is fun. Reading is fun for Thing Two and Thing One.

Thing One and Thing Two love to read Dr. Seuss
So I will try to put all of that fun reading to use.
Oh, The Places You'll Go! and The Cat in the Hat,
I must try my hand at writing like that.

Ice cream is good, and I wouldn't be so picky, if all other foods were this sweet and this sticky.

Let’s begin with Thing One
He’s the Type-A sort
Wheels and puzzles
And books for him make good sport.

Don’t mess with his pieces
Or play with his trucks
And don’t dare try to
Dress him for church in a tux.

Playgrounds are easily the best place to play. What I wouldn't give for a warm summer day!

He’ll scream and he’ll squirm
No!
   No!
      No!
         NO!
            NO!
“I’ll wear those pajamas
From a while ago!”

We will meet in the middle
You can wear this shirt. Yes.
Now get in the car
Before mom dies of stress.

Click-clack down the track, up the hallway and back.
“We are NOT gonna nap!” and
“Dad, what’s a beer?”
Some things he repeats
Should not be said here.

Faces that make you giggle and laugh. Everything's exciting when you're one-and-a-half.

Speaking of things that are done and are said
Thing Two often fills Thing One with great dread.
Taking his toys and his books and his trucks
Peace and quiet and calm are always in flux.

Trains are a favorite of Things One and Two, as sure as Percy is green and Thomas is blue.

He looks quite the same as Thing One does, indeed
“Are they twins?” you may ask.  No, just the same breed.

Thing Two is more likely to go with the flow,
but will follow his brother from to and from fro.
Down the hall, down the stairs, up the bed to jump, jump
Until they collide with a thunderous thump.

“Tackle!” he shouts as he pulls Thing One down
And giggles like a two-and-a-half foot tall clown.
Thing One does not like this, not one little bit
His only response is to punch, kick, and hit.

Thing Two will fight back, but would rather not struggle
He much rather prefers to cuddle and snuggle.
Pulling a blanket right up to his head
The living room floor makes a welcoming bed.

Bundled and warm, and everything's rosy...

Blankets all over, it's fun to be cozy!

He’d lay there all day, a chill little dude
But then he would miss out on all the good food.
Oatmeal! Bananas! Peanut Butter Crunch!
A mid-morning snack,
And mom, what’s for lunch?

Here's just a thought, it's not too profound: It's easy to share when there's enough to go 'round.

Macaroni, celery, peaches and more
Is there anything else I can find on the floor?
He eats and he eats ‘til he’s red in the face
And fills up his diapers with break-necking pace.

Oodles of noodles and a smatter of sauce, carpet under the table, crumbs easily lost.

Despite all the stink and the mess and the tears
At least he’s not caught up to his brother in years.
Three is a challenging age, have no doubt
It’s a struggle to not bang your head and to shout.

A boy on her left and a boy on her right, it's no wonder that mommy can't get even one bite.

Mom and Dad may just think that they’ve paid their dues
But Thing Two started early with the terrible twos.

Having a toddler isn't all bad. At least they still think that it's cool to be dad.

These Things make life hectic, but with joy, not despair
Mom and Dad smile and laugh, resist pulling out hair.
The boys take a nap, we can kick up our feet
Then a voice from the crib, shouting, “I need to eat!”

I think you've written plenty about me today. Now let me finish my yogurt. Get out of my way.

If you’ve made it this far, you are the bee’s knees!

Tell your friends and share, won’t you, pretty please?
